flowers for the romantics

Have you ever wanted to take some seductive images for your beau?  Not those that you'd be embarrassed if your dad saw you in, but those that might be tucked away in your bed room and if someone happen to see them, they would be jealous.  These are just those type of images.  Katie Lamb of BLUSH by Katie Lamb had a sweet mini-photo shoot and we provided some lush florals.  Take a look at what was created...

wedding flowers for your dog

Hey you dog lover you! Have you ever wondered how to incorporate your pooches into the wedding besides the obvious of having them actually there?  This fun bride decided to include her pups in such a creative way.  She had their photographer, Joseph West, shoot her doggies and style the lady pups with this flower garland.  They printed the images of both the dogs and framed them to designate her side (the female dog with the garland) and his side (the male dog without the floral garland).

Just the cutest yet sophisticated idea!

mark it off the list

Maxit Flower Design for flower Magazine, Fall Inspiration DIY Arrangement

Every year my amazing mother encourages me to creating a top 5 list of the most desired accomplishments of the year.  This has dramatically changed my views on my life and to see my goals come true has been amazing if not a little scary.  It's beautiful to see how much power we have to making decision that make things happen.

“If you have a goal, write it down. If you do not write it down, you do not have a goal - you have a wish.”
― Steve MaraboliUnapologetically You: Reflections on Life and the Human Experience

One of those goals that was written in January of this year was to get featured on flower magazine.  That goal came to fruition this weekend! Eek! Being recognized by a magazine that highlights some of my favorite floral designers has been a dream come true.  Thank you so much flower magazine for the opportunity. Go HERE for the original article and to read more goodies from this issue and so many others from the previous issues.

Here are some pics I snagged from the article, photographed by insanely talented Julie Sofer and to give further credit, the article was produced by the amazing Abby Braswell.

My Inspiration for this design was Houston’s urban, concrete jungle—also known as Central Market. The lush, colorful selection in the produce aisle can be a game changer for a floral designer. Everything from squash to the highly textured kale can be a unique element in an arrangement. Scents really guide me as well. One of my personal secrets is to add herbs to an arrangement for not only the play of colors and textures, but also the intoxicating aromas, which will make others fall in love with the design.
